Jeremiah 39:15-18 "The Gospel to the Marginalized"
In this message from Jeremiah 39:15-18, Andy Falleur introduces the idea of a “Jesus Fest” outreach where churches would share the gospel to every kind of person, then applies that to “the gospel to the transgendered foreigner or immigrant.” He traces Ebed-Melech, the Ethiopian court official whose Hebrew name means “servant of the king,” as a double outsider: a foreigner and a possible eunuch who would have been barred from temple worship under Deuteronomy 23:1. Andy shows how Ebed-Melech risked his life to rescue Jeremiah from the pit, how God promised to spare him because of his trust, and how Isaiah 56, Acts 8, and Matthew 19 reveal God’s heart for the outcast. He calls believers to stop “waiting to die” and start living for the kingdom. He holds firmly to the Bible’s teaching on marriage and the human being while insisting that the good news is for every person, including the transgendered. He shares the story of a William Allen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-V9rVPTrqw) who detransitioned after hearing the gospel, and closes by inviting listeners to surrender every part of their lives to Jesus.
